Tailoring: Netheweave bags

Hey there, and happy Thanksgiving

Today I'm going to talk about how I use Tailoring to make money in World of Warcraft. When my first account was stolen, I started reading through the forums of Just my two copper to find new ways to make money, that's when I came across the potential to make money through Netherweave bags.

I started watching my server prices for netherweave cloth and saw that it was selling for 4-8g per stack. I then checked out how the Netherweave bags were doing, they were selling for 10-12g each! that's almost double what the price for materials are. Since there aren't many people farming netherweave cloth, it's hard to get materials for the bags, expecially since I sell about 20-30 bags a day, which means that I need to buy 20-30 stacks of cloth each day. I have managed to find enough cloth on the AH and from spamming trade/general chat and it's proven to be a pretty good money maker, about 100-200g per day.

Leveling up tailoring to the required skill level wasn't too hard either. To level tailoring from 1-315 cost about 800-1,000gold. I then found some sad sap to disenchant my 300+ greens for only 20g! Once I sold all the enchanting materials the overall cost to level tailoring had dropped by about 400-500g, then I quickly made up the difference with netherweave bags and am now making pure profit.

That's all for today.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving,
-Thundaa

Background Information

Hey there, this is my first post, so here I go.

I've been playing since a couple months after vinilla wow first came out. I started out as a night elf hunter, leveled him to 70 a couple months after BC came out(I know, 1-70 over a year or two span, super slow).

Then I played off and on my main and alt.s, then Wrath came out. I started playing again, I leveled up a Death Knight up to level 70 as a Night Elf.

I got bored playing as Alliance on a PvE server, so I decided so mix things up. I rerolled a Tuaren Death Knight on Dunemaul, named Déäthknîght, and leveled to 80 with skinning and herbalism. along the way I had enough money to get my regular flyer and cold weather flying, so leveling wasn't unbearably slow.

When I hit 80 though, I stopped questing, didn't do any dailies, didn't skin much, just did a little herbalism to get by. I slowly got enough money to get my epic flyer(this is about 2-3 months after I had reached 80). Once I got my flyer, I started using herbalism to make some money, then I got bored.

Around that time I had come across two awsome gold making blogs, http://www.justmytwocopper.blogspot.com/ and http://www.greedygoblin.blogspot.com/ I started reading these each day, absorbing as much information as I could. I started to see a pattern of posts talking about how inscription was a gold mine. So I quickly farmed 2-3k gold with herbalism, dropped skinning and herbalism, and picked up enchanting and inscription.

enchanting I leveled in under 1k(I know, very lucky) then leveled up Inscription with the rest of my limited gold supply and bought the books of glyph mastery to get some profitable glyphs under my belt. I learned how to use Quick Auction and began posting and cancelling about 2-4 times a day. I started making my first 100g per day, then it slowly crept up to 1k per day. through the use of glyphs and the darkmoon cards, I reached 20k. Right around when I hit 20k my account was stolen twice(stolen once, changed password to an old one and got stolen within a week after >.>). Now blizzard is being an @$$ and not giving my back the account. So I started a-new.

I'm currently leveling up a shaman on Dunemaul, named Thundaa who's currently level 65. processions are Inscription and Tailoring. Inscription is about level 90, learning minor glyphs to make a profit. Since I don't have WOTLK there's little reason to level inscription up much higher because all the glyphs I'll learn along the way, hundreds of people already know, plus it's expensive! I've made about 100g off minor glyphs but other than that inscription is slow to make me money(no WOTLK = / )

I also chose to pick up Tailoring, it's about level 340 and making me TONs of money. I use tailoring to make netherweave bags. a stack of netherweave goes for 4-6g on my server, while a bag goes for 10-12g. One stack of cloth, and some thread, can be turned into a bag. People usually buy bags in sets of 4(four bag spots per character, new characters need bags). So I'm making 4-8g profit from each sale, and usually sell 4 bags at a time. On a regular day I'll sell about 20-30 bags, so that's about 100-200g per day. The demand for these bags is great, but the supply of cloth is getting short.

Currently I'm using several ways to make money in WOW. These are: Tailoring, Inscription, buying items and disenchanting them, buying items under vender value and vendering them and buying low and reselling items my addon deems appropriate.

I will go in depth on how I make money with these professions, addons, and strategies later. But now it's time for bed.

Until next time,
-Thundaa
